Missing Label Detection
Missing Label Detection is one of three features our unique Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) & Human Machine Interface (HMI) Package offers for those requiring full and accurate reconciliation of all label stock inclusive of details pertaining to missing labels anywhere on the roll. A software package developed by Reconcile Engineering consists of a series of complex algorithms that use information from the machine's count sensor & the machine's encoder coupled with an ability to automatically measure the label length and gap between labels across a sample length of the web. Ultimately in missing label detection mode the machine will count labels at full speed (web speed of 100 meters per minute) and not only display the label count on the machine HMI but also the missing label count. Better still, on a "missing label details" page the HMI will display a list of the actual missing label positions on the roll i.e. the exact roll position where a missing label was detected. As standard we configure the machine to show the first 6 positions where a missing label was detected on the roll. The machine will still display the total missing label count but only display the first six positions on the roll where a missing label was detected.
TIP: Where missing labels are detected in Missing Label Detection mode the Dispense Count feature (see the "Quantity Dispense Counting" option under Standard Options on the left of the screen) can be used to dispense count out to exact label positions where a missing label was detected. Visual inspection and/or corrective action can be taken where each missing label has occurred.
